Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), in collaboration with Union Bank of India, has launched a telephone bill payment service for its subscribers. Presently, the service is available to its 1.6 million landline subscribers in the Mumbai circle. MTNL will soon extend these services to its landline subscribers in Delhi circle as well as to its mobile subscribers. For availing of these services from Union Bank, MTNL will pay the former a fee of Rs 2.5 per transaction.
Under this facility, subscribers of MTNL having mobile banking application of any bank can pay their bill using their respective bank’s mobile banking application. Union Bank has allotted 9969009700 as the mobile number and 9026263 as the Mobile Money Identifier (MMID) for MTNL. To access these services, the user is required to type the mobile number and MMID of MTNL along with the bill amount and landline number for which payment is being made.
