Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), in collaboration with Sai Infosystem (India) Limited has launched video telephony services in Delhi and Mumbai. This service can be availed over existing MTNL connections and users will be charged Rs 2.50 per minute for each call.

The operator has also launched four plans for this service. The VVoBB-699U plan is priced at Rs 699 per month and the fair usage limit for the plan is 700 minutes per month. The VVoBB-899U plan entails Rs 899 as monthly rental and 1,000 minutes per month as the fair usage limit, while the VVoBB-1999U plan is priced at Rs 1,999 and entails an unlimited number of minutes per month as the fair usage limit.

The service was inaugurated by Kapil Sibal, Minister for Communications & IT. Commenting on the launch, Sibal said, ?MTNL has always been striving to offer customer friendly technologies to the common man and corporate and enterprise customers. This service will improve the quality of life in Delhi and Mumbai and will be a platform for growth, as this network is ideal for office communication and for supporting applications like tele-medicine and tele-education.
