Motorola’s home and networks mobility unit has launched Dubai Metro’s mobile Wi-Max network in partnership with UAE-based operator Du. With the implementation of this network, Du will be able to offer its customers wireless internet access using their personal digital assistants or laptops while travelling at speeds of up to 90 km per hour. Besides deployment, Motorola has also been responsible for the network design, installation and optimisation to ensure peak performance of data services to mobile customers across the Dubai Metro system.
