Motorola, Inc., which is rebuilding its mobile phone business around Google, Inc.’s Android software, has dropped the USbased internet company’s search engine from some of its Android phones in China. The move comes as a result of speculation that Google’s service licence in China will not be renewed. In fact, Google’s decision to stop censoring its Chinese service may lead some companies to switch to its peers, such as Baidu, Inc., operator of China’s biggest internet search engine. Motorola has already signed up Baidu as the search option for its Android phones sold in the country.
