Motorola is in the process of acquiring Israel-based broadband video company BitBand. BitBand specialises in infrastructure and software to deliver IPTV services as well as products for on-demand content delivery networks. The terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed, but BitBand had been seeking a $4-$5 billion acquisition price according to reports. With the addition of BitBand’s products, Motorola will be able to offer on-demand solutions to its customers. The acquisition is expected to close by the end of 2009.
