Meta has reportedly taken down over 29.2 million pieces of bad content for Facebook and 2.7 million pieces of content for Instagram during October 2022.

The new IT rules, 2021 requires that major digital and social media platforms with a user base of more than 5 million users publish monthly compliance reports.

As per Meta’s compliance report from October 2022, it saw 703 reports through its grievance mechanism, out of which in 516 cases, users themselves were given the tools to resolve their issues, 187 reports were given special scrutiny, 120 were acted against and rest 67 were left unacted.

Instagram meanwhile saw 1,377 reports from which 982 were resolved by giving users suitable tools, 395 were given special attention, 274 were acted against and 121 reports did not see any action taken on them by Instagram.
