Microsoft and Nokia have entered into a partnership for accelerating digital transformation of enterprises by offering unified solutions with Nokia’s connectivity and Microsoft’s Azure internet of things (IoT) solutions.

The companies will be offering Nokia’s analytics, virtualisation and automation (AVA) cognitive services solutions on Microsoft’s Azure platform.

Under the partnership, Microsoft Azure would leverage its cloud, IoT, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine-learning (ML) solutions with Nokia’s LTE/5G-ready private wireless solutions, IP, SD-WAN, and IoT connectivity. The two companies aim to allow enterprises to switch from private data centres to the Azure cloud to realise cost savings and transform operations for 5G.

As per the companies, BT is the first global communications service provider to offer its customers Microsoft Azure cloud and Nokia SD-WAN solutions in an integrated offering.
