Malaysian mobile operator Maxis Communications has raised its capital expenditure to 15 billion ringgit to expand operations in Malaysia, Indonesia and India over the next three years. This is approximately three to five times more than the amount budgeted in the previous year. The company has also allocated 2.5-3.5 billion ringgit to upgrade its 3G network and broadband services in Malaysia. In India, Maxis will spend about 5-7 billion ringgit to expand 2G coverage, while in Indonesia, it will invest 3-5 billion ringgit to increase 2G and 3G coverage.
