Kavveri Telecom is looking at acquisitions in the in-building wireless (IBS) solutions space, says news reports.
In so far, the company has partnered with a US-based IBS products and services provider to achieve this. Kavveri Telecom?s interest in this space stems from the US making it mandatory for buildings above 50,000 sq ft to have IBS installed.
In fact, the company has already bagged its first IBS project in Mexico. Currently, about 10 per cent of Kavveri Telecom?s revenues come from the IBS business which is expected to go upto about 25 per cent by 2014. Kavveri Telecom plans to raise about Rs 1.08 billion through private equity investments.
In India the company has IBS installed in about 125 buildings covering a total area of about 40 million sq ft.
