Jophy Varghese
APAC Head – Systems Integrators, and Country Manager, Verizon
Jophy Varghese is a senior technology and telecom executive with over two decades of global experience in driving enterprise transformation, forging strategic alliances and delivering business growth across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
Currently serving as APAC head for Global Systems Integrators and as country manager of the India Enterprise at Verizon. His mandate includes building high-impact partnerships with global system integrators and hyperscalers, and delivering tailored IT and telecom solutions to large enterprises navigating digital transformation.
With more than 15 years at Verizon, and earlier leadership roles at British Telecom and HCL. His strengths lie in developing C-suite relationships, managing end-to-end P&L and crafting solutions in software-defined networking, cloud infrastructure and security that optimise performance and reduce costs.
He is deeply passionate about the evolving intersection of artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things and edge computing, along with the emergence of advanced network technologies and sustainability in telecom. He sees his work as integral to enabling future-ready digital ecosystems. In a landscape marked by changing buyer behaviour and rapid innovation, he remains committed to building trust-based partnerships that go beyond transactions. Varghese opines that “Zero trust architecture will become a norm that enables continuous authentication and limited access to minimise risk, protecting data where it resides. AI/machine learning-driven cybercrime and deepfake technology will craft sophisticated ransomware, malware, phishing attacks and disinformation. Stricter regulations globally will push companies to invest more in data privacy and compliance.”

I also place a strong focus on building robust relationships, within my teams and with strategic partners, which has consistently led to highly effective, cohesive teams and enduring business alliances,” he reflects. He is actively engaged in mentoring start-ups in the Bangalore ecosystem, advising them on go-to-market models and business strategy, and volunteers with a charitable trust supporting people with disabilities.
An engineer by training and holding an MBA with a dual specialisation in Marketing and IT, Varghese brings a strategic and hands-on approach to leadership. Outside of work, he enjoys playing badminton, exploring emerging technology trends and spending time with his wife and their two sons in Bangalore.
