Ashish Goyal, Sales and Business Head – Telecom Business, West Coast Optilinks
With over 26 years of experience in telecom and IT across organisations like Siemens, Tata Communications, Tejas Networks and Sterlite, Ashish Goyal is a seasoned leader currently spearheading growth strategy as the sales and business head for the Telecom Business at West Coast Optilinks – one of India’s leading optical fibre cable manufacturers. He brings deep expertise in business transformation and strategic expansion, having successfully built high-performing teams and large client accounts across the public and private sectors.
The West Coast Optilinks-launched bare fibre manufacturing facilities in Hyderabad and Goyal are at the forefront of implementing backward integration for their spectrum of clients. This move has positioned the company as a fully integrated fibre solutions provider, offering end-to-end control over quality, innovation and delivery timelines. “We are transitioning from being a product vendor to a solution provider, and the journey promises challenges, triumphs, achievements and a whole lot of exhilarating moments,” Goyal states.
His current role spans pan-India revenue growth, customer engagement, product strategy, pricing decisions, forecasting and market expansion across critical verticals including telecom, data centres, defence, utilities and smart infrastructure. The focus also includes expanding into new geographies and developing next-gen fibre solutions tailored for 5G, artificial intelligence-era connectivity and sustainable telecom infrastructure.
His strategic foresight, customer-first thinking and collaborative leadership style help Goyal balance data-driven decision-making with hands-on mentorship, empowering cross-functional teams to innovate and execute with agility. He is deeply excited by the nation-building aspect of digital infrastructure, and is convinced that his role is more about shaping India’s digital future than selling cables. For him, every customer engagement is an opportunity to co-create solutions that deliver long-term value and build lasting relationships.
Commenting on the trends shaping the industry, he remarks, “We see tremendous opportunities in India’s digital mission, encompassing smart city initiatives, 5G/6G deployment, defence communication and rural connectivity programmes. ”
Goyal is an engineering graduate with a postgraduate degree in Business Management (Marketing). He continues to sharpen his skills through leadership development and technology forums. Outside of work, he enjoys reading and sports, and spending quality time with his entrepreneur wife and two children.
