Japan’s NTT DoCoMo has selected Alcatel-Lucent to build the mobile backhaul network for its LTE service. LTE is a key part of NTT DoCoMo’s global strategy, and Alcatel-Lucent’s Ethernet transport solution will enable the operator to build a reliable and scalable packet-oriented backhaul network. According to NTT DoCoMo, the network, offering very high bandwidth and managed quality of service, will help it to meet the increasing end-user service demands faster.
