Japanese mobile operator eMobile and China’s Huawei Technologies have launched Japan’s first commercial HSPA+ network, offering mobile data speeds of up to 21.6 Mbps.

Japanese mobile operator eMobile and China’s Huawei Technologies have launched Japan’s first commercial HSPA+ network, offering mobile data speeds of up to 21.6 Mbps. The upgraded service will be available in Hokkaido, Sendai, Niigata, Hiroshima, Fukuoka and Nagasaki. As of June 2009, the operator had more than 1.67 million subscribers.
