The information and broadcasting (I&B) ministry has asked DoT to initiate action against Bharti Airtel for launching internet protocol TV (IPTV) services without obtaining the requisite approvals. While Bharti has stated that it has not launched commercial IPTV services and was only running pilots, the I&B ministry has informed DoT that private telecom operators have not been cleared to conduct pilots either.
