Japan-based telecom operator NTT’s regional fixed line units NTT East and NTT West are planning a capex of $8.9 billion for 2009-10. Together, the companies aim to add 2.5 million users to their fibre optic internet networks over the next financial year. NTT East and NTT West had previously estimated 2.8 million new fibre optic users in 2009-10.
