Intex Technologies has earmarked an investment of Rs 10 billion in 2015 to strengthen its operations in the country. Out of the total investment, around Rs 3.50 billion will be used for improving its customer service and increasing retail stores. Further, the company will invest Rs 2.50 billion for marketing, Rs 1 billion for research and development and Rs 2 billion for increasing its manufacturing capacity.

Meanwhile, Intex is also planning to spend Rs 50 billion for establishing a new mobile phone manufacturing facility in India in the near future. In this regard, the company is in talks with the state governments of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand for selection of a location for the facility. At present, the company has two manufacturing facilities in Jammu and Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, which produce mobile batteries, chargers, multimedia speakers and feature phones.

The company is expecting mobile handsets to contribute around 80 per cent to its total revenues in 2015-2016, against 65 per cent in 2014-2015.
