Indus Towers is planning to invest Rs 60 billion over the next two-three years for setting up telecom towers across the country. The company current owns and operates 113,000 towers across India and plans to add 2,000-2,500 towers annually. This comes in line with the company?s strategy of increasing its tower network with increasing broadband penetration in the country.

For the Maharashtra circle, Indus towers intends to install additional 350 towers in 2014-15. The company has increased the number of telecom towers in this circle from 4,000 in 2008 to 11,000 at present, covering over 380 towns and 43,500 villages.

The company will also increase the focus on green towers. In the Maharashtra circle, Indus already has 20 per cent green towers and it intends to increase it to 40 per cent in 2014-15.
