The board of directors of Indus Towers has appointed Venkatesh Tiwari as its chief operating officer (COO), effective April 1, 2026. Tiwari succeeds Tejinder Singh Kalra, who will retire from the role on August 31, 2026, the tower company said in a regulatory filing. Kalra will continue in his capacity until 30 June 2026 to facilitate a structured transition.
Tiwari joins Indus Towers with nearly 28 years of experience across e-commerce, telecom, consumer electronics, and logistics. His expertise spans profit and loss ownership, large-scale operations, sales and marketing, supply chain management, multi-modal transportation networks, and customer experience.
He has been a senior executive from Amazon, where, he held multiple leadership roles and drove significant business growth. As leader for Amazon Now, Seller Fulfilment, and third-party logistics channels, he launched the company’s quick-commerce offering in India and led large, cross-functional teams across ultra-fast delivery, grocery operations, same-day delivery, and third-party logistics networks. He also held senior operational roles in Amazon India’s middle-mile and last-mile networks, and played a key role in building what is described as the fastest quick-commerce launch in Amazon’s global network.
Prior to Amazon, Tiwari held senior roles at Samsung, Bharti Airtel, and Perfetti. Additionally, at Airtel, he led teams across operations, customer service management, and sales and marketing.
