Indonesia’s newest cellular phone operator, PT Smart Telecom, has launched commercial operations in September 2007, with the aim of acquiring 1.4 million subscribers by the end of 2007. PT Smart will provide CDMA-based cellular services in six cities situated on the Indonesian island of Java. The company has earmarked $216$325 million as the initial capital expenditure.
