
Indonesia’s largest telecommunications firm, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (PT Telkom), has planned to buy a new satellite for $150 million to $200 million. The potential providers of the satellite are Lockheed Martin, Alcatel-Lucent, GreatWall and Mitsubishi, respectively, from the US, Europe, China and Japan.
The satellite, which will be called Telkom-3 Satellite, is expected to be launched in 2010 or 2011.
