In an internal note, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has stated that the roaming agreements inked amongst operators for 3G services would lead to significant revenue loss for the government.

Further, the note said that the revenues from the spectrum usage charge collected from operators may also be impacted.

It is believed that operators will be unable to avail of the advantages of the proposed provisions in the National Telecom Policy 2011 that may allow spectrum sharing among operators.
