Indonesia is to soon open a tender for licences to operate 3G mobile I services. The selection process will reportedly be finalised by considering the highest bids for using the frequency rights. Indonesia’s top three mobile phone operators ?? PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel), PT Indosat Tbk and Telekom Malaysia Bhd’s subsidiary PT Excelcomindo Pratama Tbk ?? are expected to join the tendering. The licence will enable operators to provide high-end services such as over-the-air video and high speed internet.
