Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Information and Broadcasting and Railways has announced that the assessment of artificial intelligence (AI) based Large Language Model (LLM) applications has reached its concluding stage. He recalled that the government had invited proposals earlier this year, receiving 67 applications for the development of an indigenous AI platform, which is expected to be launched within 18 months.

He further noted that several AI applications developed by industry players have already gained recognition under the national mission.
