According to a report, India has taken the lead globally in daily ChatGPT usage, with the highest proportion of people relying on the artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot every day. More than one-third of respondents in India reported using ChatGPT daily, making it the largest user base worldwide.

The survey found that 36 per cent of Indians access ChatGPT on a daily basis, which is over twice the global average of 17 per cent. Additionally, 39 per cent of respondents said they used it weekly, 10 per cent monthly, and 15 per cent stated they used the chatbot only rarely.

Further, Pakistan ranked second, with 28 per cent of users engaging daily and 34 per cent weekly. Kenya followed in third place, where 27 per cent use ChatGPT daily and 42 per cent weekly. In China, 49 per cent of respondents reported weekly usage compared to 24 per cent daily, while Brazil ranked fifth with 21 per cent daily users and 38 per cent weekly. However, Brazil also recorded the highest share of rare users at 27 per cent.

Meaning, Japan had the lowest daily usage globally, with only 6 per cent of respondents reporting everyday use. By comparison, 32 per cent said they used it weekly, 20 per cent monthly, and 42 per cent rarely, reflecting significantly lower adoption levels than other nations.

In European countries such as France, the United Kingdom, Poland, and Portugal, only about 10 to 12 per cent of respondents reported using ChatGPT daily.
