Idea Cellular has partnered with Facebook to launch the Facebook Messenger service for its subscribers. The facility enables customers to send messages, share pictures and locations, etc, free of charge.

This facility is available for Idea Cellular?s prepaid subscribers using any Android device. The offer is available for three months from the date of activation. Customers can activate this service until 31 July, 2013.

Commenting on the launch, Sashi Shankar, chief marketing officer, Idea Cellular said, ?With the increasing mobile broadband penetration in India, the mobile phone is becoming the most important device for accessing Internet and social networking platforms. Nearly 50 per cent of data users on Idea Cellular?s network access Facebook on their mobile phones. The free Facebook Messenger service will enhance their social networking experience and enable Facebook users to chat with their contacts while on the move.?
