Though the government has denied Huawei permission to manufacture equipment in India, the company is likely to indirectly bag big orders from MTNL. Motorola, which has received the order from MTNL for setting up its GSM network, has outsourced a part of the order to Huawei. Huawei had not been allowed to participate in MTNL’s tender as it was mandatory for the bidders to manufacture in India. According to sources, Motorola will also source equipment from Huawei if it wins the BSNL tender.
