Himachal Futuristic Communications Limited (HFCL) has won a multi-year deal from a global multinational corporation worth nearly Rs 101.59 billion (approximately $1.1 billion) for the supply of high-fibre count optical fibre cable (OFC). As per the vendor, this marks a significant milestone, being its first long-term, multi-year OFC supply agreement of this scale.
The deal covers a minimum quantity of multi-million fibre kilometres (fkm) of high-quality, high-fibre count OFC to be supplied each calendar year from 2026 to 2028, with an automatic extension for two additional years covering 2029 and 2030. Further, purchase orders will be released periodically during the contract period based on project-specific and specification-specific requirements.
