Domestic telecom equipment manufacturer HFCL has initiated the first large-scale deployment of indigenously designed and manufactured network routers, in collaboration with state-run ITI Limited, for the government’s BharatNet project.
The company has secured orders for the deployment of more than 80,000 network routers under the Centre’s flagship rural broadband connectivity programme.
According to HFCL, beyond Himachal Pradesh, its routers are currently being operationalised across several strategically important circles, including Uttar Pradesh East, Uttar Pradesh West, Punjab, West Bengal, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, helping bridge the digital divide in these regions.
