Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) plans to fill two key board positions by elevating A.K. Garg, chief general manager, BSNL Kolkata to the post of director, human resources development, and nominating KCGK Pillai who works in its finance team to head this function, according to news reports.
The post of director, finance in BSNL has been vacant for the last two years. Garg will replace Gopal Das, who currently serves as both HRD director and acting chairman and managing director (CMD). He is set to retire at the end of February 2011. Moreover, it is believed that in case the government fails to appoint a new CMD for BSNL, R.K. Agarwal, currently director, consumer mobility may be asked to officiate as CMD in the interim period.
