According to the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), the GSM cellular subscriber base witnessed an addition of 9.59 million users in February 2015, taking the overall user base to 697 million as of end-February 2015. The data does not include GSM subscriber number of Reliance Communications, Tata Teleservices, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited and Quadrant.
Bharti Airtel added 3.06 million subscribers, taking its base to 223.1 million as of February 2015. Vodafone added 1.95 million users during the month to reach a total of 182.4 million users. Idea Cellular?s total subscriber base stood at 155.4 million as of February 2015 as it added 2.69 million subscribers during February 2015.
Among others, Aircel and Uninor added 915,000 and 665,000 subscribers and their user bases stood at 80.5 million and 45.1 million, respectively, as Of February 2015. Further, Videocon added 277,000 users during the month with a total subscriber base of 6.902 million, while MTNL added 18,719 users with its overall subscriber base touching 3.40 million at the end of February 2015.
