Fujifilm India, a subsidiary of Japanese conglomerate Fujifilm Corporation, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat State Electronics Mission (GSEM) to explore the manufacturing of semiconductor materials in India and strengthen domestic supply chain capabilities.

GSEM is a specialised agency operating under the Department of Science and Technology, government of Gujarat.

Through the pact, Fujifilm India said it aims to assess opportunities to establish a semiconductor materials production base in Dholera, working closely with government stakeholders, industry bodies and private enterprises to support the development of a resilient semiconductor supply chain.
