France Telecom-the first foreign telecom operator to join an industry alliance promoting China’s 3G mobile technology standard, TD-SCDMA

France Telecom, Europe’s second largest mobile telecom operator, is the first foreign telecom operator to join an industry alliance promoting China’s home-grown 3G mobile technology standard, TD-SCDMA. A number of foreign telecom equipment makers, including Siemens and Motorola, are already members of the group along with networking equipment maker Agilent Technologies.
