According to the Government of India, foreign operators will get three month’s time to look for an Indian partner to run their operations in country after winning licences in the forthcoming 2G spectrum auction, say news reports.
Foreign operators interested in participating in the auction can bid for the spectrum independently. After the auction, the foreign operator will have to nominate a company not having more than 74 per cent foreign equity as its partner within three months.
