Ericsson has entered into $1.8 billion worth of 2G and 3G frame agreements with China Mobile and China Unicom, to be implemented by end-2010. Under its $1 billion agreement with China Mobile, Ericsson will provide a radio access network including a multi-standard radio base station, RBS 6000, as well as mobile softswitch technology to help boost the company’s network capacity and evolve it into an internet protocol (IP) platform.

Meanwhile, under its $800 million agreement with China Unicom, Ericsson will provide a faster 3G network with the HSPA Evolution technology while also expanding cooperation with the operator in the areas of IP and broadband.
