Echelon Edge has joined forces with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for its 4G network rollout worth Rs 150 billion. This large-scale project, covering over 0.1 million sites nationwide, is a key step in advancing India’s vision of telecom self-reliance under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

As a core contributor to this consortium, Echelon Edge will lead the integration of BSNL’s 4G network with comprehensive billing and customer care systems (B&CCS), ensuring smooth service delivery to millions of customers. This effort brings together prominent Indian technology companies, including Tejas Networks and the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), showcasing the potential of Indian-led innovation and collaboration in shaping the country’s telecom sector.

The initiative highlights the importance of homegrown technology in building advanced telecom solutions. The rollout of BSNL’s 4G network across the country takes India closer to creating a self-sufficient telecom ecosystem. It strengthens BSNL’s role in the competitive telecom market while creating growth opportunities for local technology providers.

Echelon Edge’s role in the project comes after the successful completion of a Proof of Concept (POC) phase, where the integration of CDOT and Tejas Networks with Amdocs and other legacy operations support system (OSS)/ business support system (BSS) solutions was validated. This achievement highlights the company’s ability to manage both traditional and modern telecom systems, further establishing its position as a trusted partner in the industry.

The BSNL 4G rollout is expected to bring reliable, high-speed connectivity to millions, particularly in rural areas that often lack access to quality network services. Echelon Edge’s expertise in OSS/BSS integration will help BSNL manage its network more effectively, improving customer experiences and operational efficiency.

This project marks an important step in India’s mission to enhance its telecom infrastructure, boost economic development, and encourage technological growth. It aligns with the government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, emphasising the role of Indian innovation in driving the nation’s progress.

Echelon Edge continues to contribute to the development of India’s telecom industry with a focus on practical solutions, operational efficiency, and collaboration. The company remains committed to enabling telecom operators to deliver top-notch services and supporting India’s growth in the global telecom landscape.

Commenting on the partnership, Anurag Singh, chief technology officer (CTO) and co-founder, Echelon Edge, said, “This project is an exciting opportunity for us to make a meaningful impact on India’s telecom sector. It is incredible to see Indian companies coming together to create something so significant. We are proud to be part of this initiative that supports India’s journey towards becoming a leader in telecommunications. With over a decade of experience in OSS/BSS deployments, Echelon Edge has worked with global telecom giants like Amdocs, Nokia, ZTE, and Ericsson. The company’s proven expertise ensures that the BSNL 4G network will be implemented efficiently, delivering dependable, high-speed services to urban and rural communities across India.
