Dinesh Dhut, Senior Director, Telecom/Solar Products & Solutions, India, ENP

Dinesh Dhut is currently serving as senior director, telecom/solar products and solutions, Emerson Network Power (ENP) India. He is also the global product line manager for telecom products and is in charge of product development with responsibility for products, pricing, placement and positioning.

A key challenge before Dhut is to ensure continuous innovations in products and services. “Since the Indian telecom market is highly competitive, a major challenge is to keep developing new products and solutions at rational prices as per customer needs.” To this end, he and his team, along with other company verticals like engineering procurement and manufacturing, engage with potential customers at the early stages of product development.

For the telecom industry, a major focus area today is reducing energy consumption. “Our emphasis, therefore, is on developing products like high efficiency and high power density rectifiers, with advance controller features, compatible with lithium-ion batteries as well as solar-led solutions,” says Dhut. “Our top priority is to help telecom companies by offering innovative models, high efficiency equipment, green energy hybrid solutions and advanced fuel management solutions to reduce the power and fuel consumption.”

An engineer by qualification, Dhut has a degree in electronics as well as a PGDGM (marketing) from NMIMS, Mumbai. He started his career in 1995 as an engineer in the UPS industry, working with a small start-up. He also worked on solar projects. In 2002, he joined Ador Powertron Limited and served in core technical roles. He joined Emerson Network Power in 2007 as a design manager in engineering, and moved up the hierarchy over the years.

As a leader, Dhut is highly motivated and believes in following an assertive customer-focused approach, thereby ensuring that customer needs are fulfilled and assignments are completed in stipulated time frames. Using this approach, he has taken on some challenging projects during the course of his 21-year-long career.

Dhut believes in maintaining a healthy work-life balance and unwinds by taking short adventure trips with friends and family. His other hobbies include listening to music, especially old Bollywood Kishore Kumar songs, and visiting places of religious significance.

Dhut’s family includes his wife and their two children – a 14-year-old son and an eight-year-old daughter.
