Chunghwa Telecom has entered into an operational alliance with Taiwan’s fourth largest internet service provider by subscribers, So-net Entertainment. Under the deal, Chunghwa will acquire a 30 per cent stake in So-net Entertainment Taiwan for around $1.75 million. So-net Entertainment’s knowledge of video distribution will aid Chunghwa in achieving its goal of adding 550,000 new FTTx subscribers in 2009.
