Chinese smartphone vendor, Xiaomi is considering establishing a data centre in India by June 2015. The decision is aimed at addressing security concerns raised by the Indian Air Force and security provider F-Secure regarding users?data protection.

Xiaomi debuted in India in 2014 and the company has aggressive expansion plan for the Indian smartphone market. It is expected to make significant investments in the proposed data centre. The company?s investments in data centre, however, is dependent on the rack space that the company plans to set up or the number of leases opted by it.

Besides setting up of a data centre, Xiaomi is also looking at strengthening its distribution system in India by setting-up about 100 consumer experience stores across the country.

Going forward, the company is gearing up to launch two new products in India ? smartphone Redmi 2 and tablet MiPad on March 24, 2015. The company has partnered with Flipkart for exclusive sale of both the products.
