China Telecom has placed a 4 million 3G handset order with several domestic mobile phone makers. The multi-billion yuan order, which includes 63 different customised models, will expand China Telecom’s 3G handset portfolio and is expected to help it attract more users. The customised handsets ordered by China Telecom are priced in the 500 to 1,000 yuan range.
