BSNL has granted networking contracts worth Rs 540 million to OFC manufacturer Sterlite Technologies to be implemented in fiscal year 2009-10.

BSNL has granted networking contracts worth Rs 540 million to OFC manufacturer Sterlite Technologies to be implemented in fiscal year 2009-10. In addition to other tasks, Sterlite will lay around 17,000 km of OFC for expanding as well as replacing parts of BSNL’s existing copper cable network. The vendor is also planning to raise its OFC capacity from the current 6 million km to 12 million km in fiscal year 2009-10.
