DoT has proposed that the winning bids in each circle for the upcoming 3G spectrum auctions should serve as the base price for the subsequent sale of any spectrum, either 2G or 3G. The highest bids in the 3G spectrum auctions will also serve as the base price for the subsequent auction process when the armed forces vacate more frequencies. If the current proposal is implemented, the government will get an equivalent amount from 2G spectrum sale in the future.
