British Telecom (BT) is planning to offer ILD and NLD services in the country the first instance of an international player in the long distance telephony market in India. BT has reportedly initiated moves to form a new company under BT Telecom India wherein BT will hold 74 per cent equity. An initial investment of $2 million has been earmarked for this purpose. BT is currently present in India through its arm, BT Global Services.
