Videocon Telecom is planning to invest Rs 2,100 million in the Gujarat circle during 2015-16, primarily on expanding its GSM services network wherein it plans to deploy over 450 new cell sites. In addition, the operator will enhance its packet core network to accommodate growing data usage on its recently upgraded 2.75G EDGE network, invest in roll out of broadband services primarily on fibre to the home, and wireless broadband on the 2.4 GHz frequency band. It plans to roll out broadband services in select pockets across key cities including Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara in phase 1 of its rollout plan.

Videocon Telecom is also planning to venture into new business lines such as providing smart city solutions, security solutions, e-surveillance, android and iOS platform based application including content and games. The operator also plans to venture into fast growing mobile wallet and e-commerce business.

The operator currently has 3,989 cell sites in Gujarat and provides services across 836 towns in Gujarat.
