The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has reportedly allocated artificial intelligence (AI) projects, or workloads, to three companies selected to supply graphics processing units (GPUs) under the IndiaAI Mission.
These include, Hiranandani Group’s Yotta Data Services, E2E Networks, and NxtGen Cloud Technologies, which will provide AI compute units to startups, academic institutions, and organisations chosen by the ministry for access to GPUs at a subsidised rate.
IndiaAI Mission in January under which it plans to offer close to 15,000 GPUs. The mission seeks to promote the development of local language models built by academia and industry with investment capital and other support.
