Bharti Airtel has put its 4G plans on the fast track. The operator reportedly plans to launch the services in Kolkata on March 20, 2012, say news reports.
The operator had paid Rs 33.1 billion to bag 4G spectrum in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Punjab and Kolkata. Meanwhile, it has already finalised its vendors for these services.
ZTE will supply the equipment and manage operations in Kolkata, while Nokia Siemens Networks will manage the operators? functions in Maharashta, Huawei in Karntaka and Ericsson in Punjab.
Bharti Airtel?S launch will follow Augere Wireless?, which has been offering high-speed data through dongles (data cards) since February 2012.
