
France Telecom’s Senegalese unit Sonatel has acquired two mobile operator licences in Guinea Bissau and Guinea. Consequently, France Telecom will begin offering mobile services before the end of the first half of 2007 under the name Orange Bissau. In Guinea, Sonatel acquired the mobile licence formerly held by telecom operator Spacetel for a renewable term of 15 years. It aims to launch commercial operations before 2007-end.
