Bharti Airtel plans to acquire 100 per cent stake in Qualcomm?s Indian 4G venture, Wireless Business Services (WBS) by 2014 say news reports.

Earlier, Bharti Airtel raised its stake in WBS to 51 per cent through 2 per cent stake share subscription. Currently, WBS holds broadband wireless access licence for offering 4G services in four circles of Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana and Kerala.

WBS has approached the Department of Telecommunications for allocation of mobile numbers to start testing voice call services on 4G network in these four circles. The company has requested DoT to allocate 25,000 numbers in each service area for this purpose.
