Bharti Airtel continues to expand its 3G footprint in Africa, say news reports.
The company has now introduced 3G services in Burkina Faso, in collaboration with Ericsson. The telecom major plans to offer download speeds of 21 Mbps to its subscribers.
The service provider’s 3G services are targeted at the youth segment, multinationals and small and medium enterprises.
Commenting on the launch, Tiemoko Coulibaly, chief executive officer, Airtel Africa Francophone Region said, “3G technology will give our customers the opportunity to interact with cellular technology in a different way. This is why Airtel doesn’t see 3G as a product, but rather as a platform that enables our subscribers to experience data better.”
