Bharti Airtel has invited bids from telecom equipment vendors for outsourcing its African operations (Zain Telecom). The company intends to outsource IT-related services, and management and maintenance of mobile and landline networks in 15 African countries. Reportedly, IT firms like Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Wipro and IBM are competing for the IT outsourcing deal.
