AT&T is likely to buy an unspecified stake in Telekom Malaysia’s (TM) mobile unit, TM International. According to sources, TM International is looking for a strategic partner that will enable it to enter the Vietnamese telecom market and AT&T already has a presence in Vietnam. The transaction, when it takes place, would give AT&T entry into a wide range of regional markets beyond Malaysia, including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Cambodia.
